How do you find more hot craft ideas to sell?

After you choose a niche, it’s time to start doing some research to see…

  • what people are looking for
  • keywords used to search for items

1.  Start by adding the FREE Keyword Everywhere app to your browser. (Only available on Chrome and Firefox.)

The Keyword Everywhere app let’s you see the search volume for words that you look up on Google, Amazon, and other places you search. When you search in Google it will also give you a list of keywords that people search for that are similar to your original search! (GOLD!!)

This tool will help you to know how many people are looking for the handmade products you are researching and similar keywords that you can research to find more ideas.

2. Next make a list of all the words you can think of that people might be searching for in your niche.

Let’s choose pregnancy/new mom as our niche. We then would make a list of all the phrases we can think of that someone might lookup in the pregnancy/new mom niche:

  • Nursing
  • Blankets
  • Teething
  • How to get baby to sleep
  • safe toys for baby
  • food for baby

You can start typing these phrases into Google and record the search volume and any other related keywords.

3. Now you can continue to research your list of keywords on Amazon, Etsy, Ebay, Pinterest, and any other related sites.

You should be able to get a good idea of what people are looking for and what they need. Create an inventory of handmade items that you can take images of and post to your online store!
